We visit your home, inspect your current tank setup, measure the space, check your oil lines, and assess any access challenges. You get an honest, all-inclusive price on the spot with no hidden fees.

Drain and Remove the Old Tank

On installation day, we start by pumping any remaining oil from your old tank into a temporary holding container. We then disconnect the old tank from the supply and return lines, remove it from your basement or utility room, and haul it away for proper recycling.

Position the New Roth Tank

Your new Roth double-wall tank is carefully placed in position. The Roth is lighter than a steel tank of the same capacity, which makes it easier to maneuver through tight basement stairs, narrow doorways, and low-ceiling spaces. We level it on the existing pad or install a new one if needed.

Run All New Piping

We replace the copper supply line and return line from tank to burner. Every installation gets new shut-off valves, a new oil filter, and flexible connectors. If your supply line passes through a wall or floor, we install a fire-rated sleeve. Old piping is never reused because corrosion and sludge buildup in aging copper lines can restrict flow and cause burner problems.

Install the Tiger Loop (Air Eliminator)

Every Roth installation includes a Tiger Loop, which is an air eliminator mounted on the supply line between the tank and your burner. The Tiger Loop removes air from the fuel system automatically. The biggest advantage: if you ever run out of heating oil, your burner will restart on its own once your tank is refilled. Without a Tiger Loop, running out of oil means calling a technician to bleed the lines, prime the pump, and manually restart your system. The Tiger Loop eliminates that hassle and that service call entirely.

Install Accessories and Safety Components

Depending on your setup, we install additional components to ensure a safe and code-compliant system:

• Tank hood or weather cap (for outdoor installations)
• Whistle vent alarm to prevent overfills during delivery
• Oil safety valve (OSV) for gravity-fed systems
• Fill and vent piping with proper termination
• Gauge guard to protect the tank level indicator
• Anti-siphon valve if the tank sits above the burner

All necessary accessories are included in your quoted price. There are no surprise add-ons.

Transfer Your Oil

The oil we pumped from your old tank is filtered and transferred into your new Roth. You do not lose any usable fuel during the changeover. If your old oil has excessive sediment, we will let you know and recommend a fresh delivery instead.

System Testing

We fire up your burner and run a complete system test. We check for leaks at every connection point, verify proper fuel flow through the Tiger Loop, confirm the burner fires cleanly, and make sure the oil level gauge and whistle vent are working correctly. You are not signed off until everything runs perfectly.

Cleanup and Warranty Registration

We clean up the entire work area, remove all packaging and debris, and haul away your old tank. Before we leave, we register your 30-year Roth manufacturer warranty and activate your 10-year environmental insurance policy with $2 million in cleanup coverage.
